Films For Improvers
Welcome, Here is the films for improvers section!
Now it is time for you to begin making even better films, by adding these new features and effects.
If you started off in the "films for beginners" section, you will currently be working on making your projects on microsoft Powerpoint, or if you started straight here, you will either use that or Windows Movie maker or another software. Now I would reccomend typing in "Photostory 3 for windows" In the google search bar. The first result is the one you should click on (The software is FREE) and it will take you to a web page.
I have made a word document of instructions below.
Photostory 3 Tutorial.docx Size : 2.755 Kb Type : docx |
|
There you can download the Photostory 3 program. Once you have downloaded it, open up the icon on your desktop and select begin a new story, then click next. Once you have done that, you will see a new screen. There is a long thin bar that reads import pictures. Click it and find your photos. To save time highlight all the photos you want then click OK. Now click the next button twice until you get to where it says Customise moton in one bar and preview in the other. Click on customise motion and select the specify start and end motion. There should be two of the same picture below. One should be completely coloured, the other should have a coloured square in it and kind of black and whit around the edges(sometimes they are both like this).
On the ones with the black and white bit around the colour, double click on the bit with the colour and it should make it all coloured. The coloured squares are showing zooming effects if you wanted to know, but unless it is a starting scene you won't wamt them in animation. Below the two pictures is a box with a title duration. select the circle that says number of seconds to display th picture and in the small box besides it type in 0.1. At the top of the window there are two bars-Motion and Duration and Transition. You should be on Motion and Duration at the moment, but now you must click on Transition. At the top there is a box which shuld be ticked called start current picture using a transition. Untick the box and then look at the bottom of the window. There a three boxes. Click Save. There are two blue arrows in the middle of the screen, at the bottom. Click the one that points right. This takes you to the Next slide. You have to do this for every slide, but you will get faster as you get used to it.
Sound effects.
If you read the Films for beginners section you will be using the basic sound recorder on your computer. To make sound effects you MUST have and electric Mic and a sound recorder software. If you have Vista on your computer, you have to download a new sound editor, as this version has no mixing properties.(I would Use Audacity if I were you, it is what I use. It is complicated but still good.) If you have windows XP this set of instructions is for that. You can open your background sountrack in Sound Recorder and then use your cursor to select what time you want your sound effect to trigger. Once you have got your cursor where you want it, click on effects I think it is called, and select mix with file. Now click on the effect you want and it will add it to your soundtrack. You can now save it and add it to your Photostory 3 project.
I hope these pages have helped improve your films, that's what this site is for anyway.
Thanks for Visiting Lego Films and Bye for now!
